The Kauvery Institute of Brain and Spine (KIBS), at
Kauvery Hospital has launched neuro-specialty
clinics and introduced the use of AI in stroke care.
The new clinics include a Facial Pain Clinic,
Parkinson’s and Movement Disorder Clinic, Spine
Deformity Clinic, and Epilepsy Clinic, all of which will
offer medical and surgical treatment for both adults
and children.
“The collaboration between specialists across
various fields ensures that our patients receive well-
rounded care,” said Dr Krish Sridhar, Group Mentor,
Neurosciences & Director of KIBS.
Dr Aravindan Selvaraj, Co-Founder and Executive
Director, Kauvery Group of Hospitals, said that
timely diagnosis and treatment can significantly
improve patient outcomes.
“With AI, we can ensure that no time is wasted in
treating stroke patients, leading to better recovery
and reduced long-term disability,” he said.
Dr Shriram Varadharajan, Senior Consultant, Neuro-
radiology, and Clinical Lead (Brain and Spine
Imaging), said “With AI, we aim to speed up stroke
diagnosis. It won’t replace doctors but will support
them by quickly analyzing scans.
Dr. Sridhar said KIBS would collaborate with smaller
hospitals in the city to help process and diagnose
abnormalities in CT scans.
“We’re focusing on hospitals that have a CT scan
facility but nothing more than that. So far, three
have signed up,” he added.
