3 Streets renamed in Mylapore after great artists

De Monte Street in Santhome has been renamed as MS

Viswanathan Street in honor of the great Tamil cinema

composer who ruled the film industry for over 30 years

MS Viswanathan affectionately called as Mellisai Mannar

(king of melody)


Family members of MS Viswanathan and his admirers

were present at the occasion.


East Circular Road in Mandaveli has been renamed as

Sirkhazhi Govindarajan Street in memory of great

versatile singer both in movies as well as in sabhas and a

movie actor the late Sirkhazhi Govindarajan. Family

members led by his son Dr Sirkhazhi Sivachitamparam

attended the event.


Norton Third Street in Mandaveli has been renamed

after the late Tiruchi Loganathan, a popular Tamil movie

playback singer of yesteryears. Family members of the

late singer attended the event.


Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin unveiled the street

names from the Secretariat virtually in the presence of

Minister K N Nehru, Chief Secretary N Muruganandam,

Chennai Mayor R Priya, Deputy Mayor M Mahesh Kumar,

Chennai Corporation Commissioner J Kumara Guruparan,

Mylapore MLA Dha Velu, IAS officers T Karthikeyan and

HR Kaushik family members of the artists and others.
