Jaya Eye Care Center on Fourth Trust Cross Street Mandaveli

has merged with Maxivision Super Specialties Eye Hospital

Group but will continue to be known as Jaya Eye Care Center.

Former India cricket captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni

inaugurated 10 eye hospitals/vision centers of Maxivision Super

Specialty Eye Hospitals Group in Chennai last week including

Jaya Eye Care Centre which now part of Maxivision Group.

Dr Ganesh has now assumed the position of Clinical and

Academic Director of Maxivision Super Specialty Eye Hospitals.

The center will be upgraded with all state-of-the art facilities in

ophthalmology including laser correction for myopia, advanced

and complicated cataract surgeries, cornea, retina and

glaucoma pediatric ophthalmology and other serious disorders

under the new set up, according to Dr B Ganesh, its medical

director. The hospital will be equipped to handle oculoplasty.

The enhanced facility will treat both insured and non-insured at

a nominal and affordable cost. Jaya Eye Care will impart clinical

and surgical training to young doctors joining the group. The

group plans to open 10 to 15 such eye care specialized centers

all over India and 25 vision centers within one year.

The expansions are aimed to address the several vision

disorders in the city. Dhoni also launched SiLK Elita — Chennai’s

first flapless, blade-free laser vision-correction procedure in the

presence of GSK Velu, Chairman and Managing Director of

Maxivision Eye Hospitals Group; Kasu Prasad Reddy, Co-

Chairman of Maxivision Eye Hospitals Group; Dr B. Ganesh,

Medical Director and Shibu Varkey, Regional Clinical Director

“Vision is one of the most important things in sports and in life

as well,” Dhoni said. “It is also essential to look after your

overall health, especially considering that many of today’s jobs

are desk-based, and so the amount of walking and activity has

reduced,” said Dhoni, during a chat with Dr. Velu and Dr. Kasu

Prasad Reddy at the inauguration of the centers

“Overall health check-up is very important, and COVID-19

literally taught us why health is wealth,” Dhoni said. During the

course of the conversation Dhoni also spoke about his love for

Chennai, what is in store for Chennai Super Kings, his

commitment for life-long learning, the inspirations in his life, on

accepting challenges, and much more.
