The Ashta Bhandhana Maha Samprokshanam of

sannadhis of Perumal, Thayar, Aandal and

Rajagopuram of Sri Madhava Perumal temple in

Mylapore was performed with religious fervor on

between 9 30 AM and 10 30 AM on Feb 21.

Special prayers were offered to Sri Madhava

Perumal and Srimathi Amirdavalli Thayar, the

presiding deities of the famous temple.

The Madhava Perumal Temple is dedicated

to Lord Vishnu. Constructed in the Dravidian style of

architecture here Vishnu is worshipped as Madhava

Perumal and his consort Lakshmi as Amirdavalli.

The temple is believed to be the birthplace

of Peyazhvar, one of the first three of the

12 Alvar saints of the 6th-9th century CE.
